Linkedin have been very clever with this campaign, sending out emails to users, congratulating them on having a top viewed profile, when you actually work it out based on the number of Linkedin users, you are not really that special 🙁

Each “top” user is presented with a nice looking email, linking through to a congratulatory message from Linkedin’s “Senior Vice President, Products & User Experience”. From this page the user is able to push out their “good news” to social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin with a preset message, here is the message that Design that fits Director, Stacey, received below

Hurray! I have one of the top 5% most viewed @LinkedIn profiles for 2012. http://www.linkedin.com/pub/profile/14/9b8/4a3

Clever way of getting users to talk about Linkedin, to raise their profile and gain a wider following.

Our opinion, we found it funny, but a clever way of user engagement…well done Linkedin, it seems to be working!
