We would like to extend a warm welcome to Oscar, who has joined our company from the University of Huddersfield. He is studying for a degree in Computer Science and will be with us for the next year while he continues his studies.
Oscar joins our development team as a Junior eCommerce Developer, and we look forward to seeing the valuable contribution he will bring. We really do believe that his skill, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn will prove an asset to the team.
As a Junior eCommerce Developer, Oscar will bear many different responsibilities. He will work in close contact with our development team to support the creation of new functionality and enhancements to our eCommerce platforms. His duties also include debugging and fixing post-issues to keep our systems up and running with ease and efficiency. Where necessary, Oscar will install updates to keep our systems current with new features and security patches. This position will also involve liaising directly with customers to understand their needs and assist them in their projects and we hope you’ll get chance to speak with him over the next few weeks.
This university training has helped Oscar develop many aspects of his technical skills, which will be of great use in this role. Coursework in topics such as programming, software development, and database management has given him a very solid grounding for the work he will be undertaking. More importantly, we are committed to giving extra training and support necessary for his success in this role. Over the coming weeks, he will undergo intense onboarding, where he will be trained in all the platforms and technologies in use. This will be able to prepare him to immediately make positive contributions to our team from an early stage.
Beyond technical skills, Oscar brings a range of qualities into our company: he is known for solving problems and paying attention to details, which will be important in the development of new functionalities and solution of incidents in eCommerce systems. Oscar also likes team-oriented environments, and we strongly believe he will feel great in our team, establishing good relationships with colleagues and contributing to collective success.
Outside of professional and academic interest, Oscar is an avid lover of sports. He is into rock climbing and badminton, activities that show he loves challenges and strategic thinking-qualities that will surely serve him well in his role with us.
In the coming year, we are equally eager to see Oscar grow and develop professionally and personally. The coming year shall provide ample opportunity for him first to get hands-on experience in the profession by putting into operation the theoretical knowledge gained from the university for solving the real problems of life. We’ve already taken him to a few meetings and thrown him in at the deep end with some of the problem solving scenarios we’ve presented him with.
We look forward to learning from Oscar’s fresh perspective and innovative ideas and we are pleased to have Oscar on board, we can already see how he will be of immense value to our team. His strong technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and enthusiasm for learning guarantee that he will be valuable in driving the successful e-Commerce projects for us and for our clients.
