MoMo Challenge

The news has been full of stories this week of the #MoMoChallenge and how children as young as 5 have been left terrified, as the scary doll like character appears halfway through children’s YouTube videos, telling them to hurt themselves or their family/friends will come to harm – but could it all be a hoax?

Experts claim scary MoMo is just a hoax and is being amplified by media coverage, with no reports in the UK of any child self harming due to viewing a MoMo meme. Social Media users have fuelled rumors of Momo over the past few weeks, but has anyone actually seen the mysterious character? Parents have been speaking of their concern for their children’s well-being and in some cases have stopped their children accessing social media channels on video sharing site youtube to prevent them from accessing any content that may feature MoMo.
