Magento 2 Feature Spotlight: Page Builder - DTF Digital

With the release of Magento open source 2.4.3 came a new, long awaited feature – Page Builder. The Magento 2 Page Builder makes it easy to create and manage content throughout your website by providing a “unified native CMS tool”. Some of the features include:

  • Advanced content tools
  • Full page layouts for CMS pages, product and categories
  • Real time editing
  • Drag and drop
  • Assortment of content types
  • Drop custom product attributes into content.

The page builder is a massive improvement over the original WYSIWYG editor that previous versions of Magento featured, finally bringing the sort of basic control over layout/content that you have come to expect from other CMS platforms such as WordPress.

What content types can I add to my page/product/block?

Out of the box, the new Page Builder feature provides a number of drag drop elements you can place within your content. The basics are all covered, such as columns, text, headings, images and buttons. The builder also provides more advanced capabilities, such as adding video, banners, sliders and maps. For more information on the page builder take a look at the updated Magento User Guide.

For developers, the content types available are naturally extendible, meaning that its possible to create new types to suit individual content needs. The Magento DevDocs provides a tutorial on how to create a new Quote content type. If you have a particular content type requirement but find it doesn’t exist then please feel free to get in touch, our team would be happy to create it for you.
