It is absolutely amazing how quickly you can find out about something happening, even at the other side of the world. This has been evident this week with the reports on Hurricane Sandy, which has battered the East coast of America. We’ve seen real time reports, videos and images across all types of social media platforms including, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest etc from everyday people who were keen to share their stories with the world.

It has been reported that families and friends used these social media tools to communicate during the storm, and that a group of New Yorkers spent the storm inventing ways to keep their mobile phone batteries going when the city was without power so that they could report, to the world, from the eye of the storm.

These Social Media platforms are readily available to anyone, anywhere in the world (providing you have an internet connection!), messages can be easily communicated far and wide in an instant and you can reach out to people you would never think you could.

Are you effectively using social media? Do you need some advice? Give us a shout! you can call, email, tweet or facebook us!
