Several satirical stories have recently been mistaken for breaking news and have caused confusion and frustration amongst Facebook users. The feature is currently in its test stages and has been rolled out across a selected number of users, based on user feedback that spoof stories should be highlighted to users.

Several news organisations have also fallen foul of sites such as The Onion, The Daily Mash and The Daily Currant.

It is not currently know whether or not the feature will be permanantly rolled out across the site or to which websites this tag will apply.
