The move opens up a wealth of potential new domain names for individuals and companies. The BBC reports that a .berlin suffix will cost between 30-60 euros (£25-50) per year, and is expected to raise 500,000 euros (£418,000) in the first year alone.
It has also been reported that the .london top level domain name will become available in April.
Are you based in London, would you purchase a .london domain? What do you think about introducing more local domain names, .huddersfield for example?
